Lincolnshire composer Caroline Leighton studied piano with her mother, a graduate of the Birmingham Conservatoire, and won the 'Classical Pianist of the Year' award twice whilst at Music College in Leeds.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Accompanying sopranos Barbara Bonney, Lynne Dawson, and Opera North soloists in the college Lieder classes.
- BBC Radio Three interview in her final year.
In February 2021, Caroline left her convent, a large community of Carmelite nuns living in rural Norfolk, to pursue her love of composing. She entered as a postulant in
October 2020 and lived there for four months.
