Caroline
Leighton
Welcome!
Lincolnshire composer Caroline Leighton studied piano with her mother, a graduate of the Birmingham Conservatoire, and won the 'Classical Pianist of the Year' award twice whilst at Music College in Leeds. She specialised in performance and Lieder, accompanying acclaimed sopranos Barbara Bonney and Lynne Dawson, and was interviewed on BBC Radio Three in her final year.
Last February, Caroline left her convent, a large community of Carmelite nuns living in rural Norfolk, to pursue her love of composing. She is published by Encore Publications, Kent, and writes about faith and spirituality in the mind, body, and spirit magazine 'More to Life'.
